Court House

Winningham’s first venture into architectural photography was as part of a team of 24 photographers, working under the direction of Richard Pare, whose objective was to document wide variety of architectural styles embodied in the county court houses of the United States.  Their combined work, now recognized as one of the great photographic documentary projects, culminated in the 1976 publication of the book, Court House, as Bicentennial celebration of a great American architectural heritage.  Over the years since the publication of that book, Winningham has continued to photograph the court houses of Texas. Archival pigment prints of over 50 Texas court houses are available.
